What an immensely sad story of a wasted life; or rather of many wasted lives if one counts the members of the „circus“ that surrounded Chögyam Trungpa. These people were all so gullible. But then Trungpa told them the stories they wanted to hear. Co-dependency in action one might say. He needed the circus and they needed a ringleader. Very, very sad.
Well Renate, we need look no further than the comments of "Autonomousdrone" below for an exemplary display of the state of Tibetan Buddhism in the West. He/she/they repeatedly tell us they have Karma Kagyu empowerment and proclaim to be a "powerful yogi" with fifty years of Dharma study. Like we should be impressed. Then they graciously fill up the comment sections with AI-generated detritus and a peppering of half-witted ad hominems, while wearing the label Troll like a badge of honour. Which is, you know, exactly the fruit you'd expect from half a century on the Buddhist path. DJKR would be so proud.
One more squeak from them and the block button handles the rest. Clean, compassionate, done.
Actually, this was an excellent opportunity to try and remember what the Lojong slogans say and to remain calm. So, in their twisted way, the Kagyu-person was a good teacher.
Thank you. This person seems to be rather disturbed. I looked at their posts (not only what they wrote to me) and they consist of short, meaningless insults. Sad.
I had heard it was bad.... But damn....
Are any of these gurus legit?

?? Do you expect a reply to what looks like an insult? Or are you trying to practise crazy wisdom on me?
I don‘t think insults count as right speech.
Well, and I don‘t accept being insulted by anyone. I won‘t be baited. Goodbye.
You have a way with words, I have to say.
Good for you. And I have a PhD. But really, discussing Buddhism should not be about that kind of stuff.
